THE HUMAN ENERGY.

THE HUMAN ENERGY.
Where does food get its energy?
Energy from our food comes from the sun!
The sun's energy is transferred to plants, which use it to convert water and carbon dioxide into sugars. That process is called photosynthesis. Plants are then eaten by animals, which are eaten by larger animals.
What type of energy is released when food is burned?
This food is oxidized (or “burned”) inside our bodies during digestion. As this happens, chemical energy stored in the food is converted to heat energy (to maintain our constant body temperature), mechanical energy (to move our muscles), and electrical energy (for nerve transmission).
What is energy in moving things called?
Kinetic energy is the energy of motion. All moving objects have kinetic energy. When an object is in motion, it changes its position by moving in a direction: up, down, forward, or backward. 3. Potential energy is stored energy.
What are the 2 main sources of Earth's energy?

At the most foundational level, however, there are just two sources of energy. Two sources provide more than 99 percent of the power for our civilization: solar and nuclear. Every other significant energy source is a form of one of these two. Most are forms of solar.A
